Kora's Room

Here is a picture of Kora's room. I finally managed to get it all clean in there and now we are ready to decorate. Tomorrow we will spend the first day of the new year painting her room a soft yellow color to blend in with the bedding. We will also be putting up trim to match what is already in there. Her ceiling is a wedding cake ceiling, so we have to put trim inside there too. We can't wait. We also ordered our bedding from Kidspace and it will be in very soon!!

Here is the fabric I bought for her bedding. My fantastic neighbor and I are going to sew her stuff togther this weekend using these colors. It's hard to imagine until it's all done. But...I will try to help you visualize. (From Left to Right) The soft yellow with dots is going to be the backing of the quilt. The orange, green, polka dots, and floral will be the squares to make up her quilt. The multi-color stripes are for the ruffle of the quilt. Then we will use the orange again for the bumber, the green for the bedding skirt, and the floral with beads attached for the curtains. Once it's put on the bed and up I will take more pictures to show you. I spent awhile searching for the fabrics I wanted, so I am truly most satisfied with what I found.

These letters will go on the wall and I am thinking of buying some old antique frames (8x10) and spray painting them some cordinating color and placing the letters inside the frames. I used scrapbook paper, ribbon, buttons, and flower stick-on's to add to the letters. I had so much fun cordinating them to the bedding fabric as well.
This is little miss Kora's first dress. My sister-in-law bought it for her at Christmas. I can't wait to see her in it!!
I obviously didn't turn the light on in her closet or in her room or these pictures would be brighter. These are her 1st pair of shoes/socks from my friends Deborah and Amy. Deborah also got her a matching hat for the light pink/brown shoes. The ones on the left were from Amy, a girl I work with and they are actually socks that just look like little mary janes. lol Kora will be so fasionable when she gets here. As you can tell, I am getting more excited with each passing day and so is Steven.... he just is so pumped about all this girl stuff, he truly wanted a sweet girl to love on and be loved by.
